When a Personal Support Worker (PSW) wears or otherwise uses the HSCPOA PSW Visual Mark, it means they:
Have voluntarily registered with the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA).
Are a PSW in good standing with HSCPOA.
Have met the minimum requirements for education and/or experience.
Are committed to providing safe, quality and ethical care
Are accountable to an oversight body in place to protect the public.
Can easily be found on HSCPOA’s Public Register of PSWs, which will show any complaints, discipline history, and any limitations on their registration.
The HSCPOA PSW Visual Mark inspires confidence
It demonstrates to recipients of PSW services and employers that the HSCPOA registered PSW cares about delivering the best every day.
The HSCPOA PSW Visual Mark immediately IDs a registered PSW who is educated and experienced. It is only available to those who meet strict criteria: unauthorized use may result in penalties.
The HSCPOA PSW Visual Mark Usage Guide helps both PSWs registered with HSCPOA and their employers understand the authorized use of HSCPOA’s PSWs Visual Mark.
