Health and Supportive Care providers are vital members of Ontario's health care system.
The Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) evaluates the eligibility of individuals who are applying for registration as a personal support worker (PSW) in Ontario.
Information in this section provides details on how to become registered, what education and/or practice experience are required, along with any other requirements for registration.
The Government of Ontario is providing the new Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority with the funding and support required in fiscal year 2023/2024 to become fully operational. Financial support in future years is being sought with the aim to permit the registration of PSWs at little or no cost.
