The Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority Act, 2021 was enacted to support public protection and ensure registered personal support workers (PSWs) deliver safe, competent, ethical, quality care to the public/recipients of supportive care services in their homes, hospitals, long-term care facilities, as residents, or other health care environments.
Working with the government, employers, the public/recipients of supportive care services, PSWs and other relevant stakeholders, HSCPOA is establishing regulations that further define its work, including setting out the requirements for registration, a code of ethics, information accessible on our online Public Register, composition of advisory committees, appeals and discipline and others.
