Discipline Committee

Pursuant to section 46(1) of the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority Act, 2021 (the “Act”), the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) is required to have a Discipline Committee.

46 (1) The Board shall establish a Discipline Committee in accordance with the regulations to hear and determine, in accordance with the prescribed procedures, issues concerning whether registrants have failed to comply with the prescribed code of ethics that applies to them.

The Discipline Committee is being formed in preparation for more serious concerns arising from complaints that may be referred by HSCPOA’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to its Discipline Committee, and the subsequent possibility of appeals of those decisions that may be received by its Appeals Committee. Each committee is required to have at least seven individuals appointed by HSCPOA’s Board of Directors.
